What is licensing?
Art licensing means you can use my artwork on the products you sell without buying the copyright. Instead, you purchase the right to use the design for an agreed period of time.
Licenses can be exclusive, where the design is only licensed to your business, or non-exclusive, where the same design may also be licensed to other companies. The terms and duration of the license are agreed upon in advance. I always retain the copywright to my designs.
Non exclusive vs exclusive licensing
I offer both non-exclusive and exclusive licensing.
With a non-exclusive license, you have the right to use a design on your products. The same design may also be licensed to other companies or offered by me through fabric retailers and print-on-demand platforms.
For an exclusive license, we will agree on the terms together. Exclusivity applies to a specific product category and an agreed territory. At the end of the license period, you will have the first option to renew your license.
For both types of licensing, I retain the copyright and ownership of the design.
Do you offer full buyouts?
Selected designs are also available for purchase as a full buyout. If you are looking for complete ownership of a design, please get in touch to discuss the options.
Can the design be customized
Yes, absolutely. I can customise the colours and scale of my designs to better suit your collection or brand.
All of my designs are created in vector format, which means the colours and scale can be fully customised to meet your needs.
